WDS® Flexible Pipe
WDS® Flexible Pipe is a microporous insulation material with an extremely low coefficient of thermal conductivity, i.e. with very good insulating properties.
WDS® Flexible Pipe consists of inorganic silicates. The main component is fumed silica. The others are opacifiers for minimizing infrared radiation and silicates. WDS® Flexible Pipe was specially developed for applications in pipe insulation. The low density and the specially developed IR opacifiers contained in these grades greatly reduce the thermal conductivity of WDS® Flexible Pipe systems.
The significant reduction of the required insulation thicknesses with WDS® Flexible Pipe (particularly at low pressures) leads to highly efficient thermal insulation.
WDS® Flexible Pipe is successfully used in double-wall offshore pipelines (Pipe-in-pipe systems). Through a special slitting, the panels can be easily wrapped around pipes.
For an easier and cleaner handling, WDS® Flexible Pipe is supplied in a PA/PE laminated film system under a light vacuum.
