WDS® Flexible Design
WDS® Flexible Design is a microporous insulation material with an extremely low coefficient of thermal conductivity, i.e. with very good insulating properties.
WDS® Flexible Design consists of inorganic oxides. The main component is fumed silica, the others are opacifiers for minimizing infrared radiation, and reinforcing glass fillaments.
WDS® Flexible Design was specially developed for applications in the automotive industry. In this case, specifically for automotive exhaust systems. The significant reduction of the required insulation thicknesses with WDS® Flexible Design leads to highly efficient weight and space-saving thermal insulation.
Geometry of the plates can be individually adapted within the two-dimensional range to the requirements of the customers. Also cylindrical forms can be achieved by a slitting of the panel.
