WDS® Flexible Design-AL
WDS® Flexible Design-AL is a microporous insulation material with an extremely low coefficient of thermal conductivity, i.e. with very good insulating properties.
To give the product better flexibility, WDS® Flexible Design-AL is wrapped completely in an aluminium foil. The foil also provides more stability, robustness and a cleaner handling during installation.
WDS® Flexible Design-AL consists of inorganic oxides. The main component is fumed silica, the others are opacifiers for minimizing infrared radiation, and reinforcing glass fillaments.
WDS Flexible Design-AL was specially developed for applications in the automotive industry. In this case, specifically for automotive exhaust systems in trucks and cars. The significant reduction of the required insulation thicknesses with WDS® Flexible Design-AL leads to highly efficient weight and space-saving thermal insulation.
Geometry of the plates can be individually adapted within the two-dimensional range to the requirements of the customers. Also cylindrical forms can be achieved by a slitting of the panel.
